In Jurgen Onland: Photos as Mythopoetic Act, curator Steve Bisson describes Onland’s photography as a medium that transforms images into mythopoetic gestures, inviting viewers to engage with themes of memory, nostalgia, and longing.

During Photographers’ Café ‘Van binnenuit’, Jurgen Onland reflected on themes of alienation and belonging, sharing how photography became a means of navigating identity, memory, and the inner landscape.

Featured in Gente di Fotografia (Issue #83), with the portfolio The Puzzle of Existence, exploring themes of memory, identity, belonging, and the interplay between lived experience and imagined realities. (dutch translation here)

Completed the Trespasser Photobook Workshop (with Bryan Schutmaat and Matthew Genitempo) in Berlin, an intensive program focused on photobook editing, sequencing, and the development of long-term photographic projects.

Invited speaker at Vakfotografen Vertellen in Theater Orpheus (Apeldoorn), presenting my photographic practice and the personal stories that shape my work.

Organizer of the Urban Photo Race (UPR) in Utrecht and Eindhoven, coordinating and promoting community-based street photography events.

Selected for Photo31’s Talent in Focus, recognising my documentary and autobiographical photography exploring themes of identity, belonging, memory, and self-reflection.
